Loose forwards Nizaam Carr and Siya Kolisi will not be available for the Stormers' pre-season friendly against the SWD Eagles in George on Saturday.

Carr was in hospital last week with a severe viral infection, but has since been discharged and is recovering well at home, while Kolisi is resting a hamstring niggle.

Meanwhile, locks Jean Kleyn and Ruan Botha and prop Frans Malherbe are still making good progress from their long-term injuries, with Kleyn joining full team training on Monday.

The Stormers will play another two pre-season games, against the Cheetahs at Newlands on 30 January (7pm) and the Boland Kavaliers on 7 February (away, kick-off TBC), before opening their Vodacom Super Rugby campaign against the Bulls in Pretoria on 14 February.
