Malcolm Marx says the forwards unit of the Springboks will have a few tricks up their sleeves when the world champions and England clash at Twickenham on Saturday.
The Test will be South Africa’s 13th at a ground where the Boks haven’t won since 2014, but Jacques Nienaber’s troops arrived in London after thrashing Italy in Genoa last week, while England snatched a dramatic late draw against the All Blacks.

Speaking in the lead up to this week’s encounter, Marx told reporters he expects a tough battle up front between two evenly matched packs on Saturday.

“We know how good England’s pack is and I’m not going to say what we’ve come up with,” the hooker said. “We’ve worked really hard this week on focusing on ourselves and what we can improve from the previous games.
“We’ve seen how good and how dominant England’s pack has been, so we know we’ve got a great challenge awaiting us at the set-piece.”

Saturday’s Test is also the Boks’ last for 2022, and Marx is revved up to ‘empty the tank’ against the Roses.
He added: “We’ve given our best in every Test that we’ve played in, regardless of whether it’s the first or the last one.
“In some, things went our way and in others, they didn’t. I think the guys are excited and keen to play against England.
“Especially here where we haven’t won in a while, and I haven’t won at Twickenham. I think the guys are excited and keen to empty their tanks.”
