With the dirt trackers set to roll up their sleeves against Munster on Thursday, take a look back to 2009 when Leicester and Saracens hosted the Boks’ midweek warriors.
The South Africa A team, coached by Mzwandile Stick, will take on Irish side Munster on Thursday night in the first of two midweek matches of the European tour.
It will be the first time that the outfit is in action since last year’s British & Irish Lions series with a combination of wily veterans and budding youngsters putting their hands up for higher honours.
Here we take a look back at the last time the Springboks let the dirt-trackers loose on northern hemisphere club sides during the overseas tour of 2009.
