South Africa won all three of their pool matches on day one of the Tokyo Sevens.
The Blitzboks started the day on a bad note, losing a man to a yellow card and trailing Kenya by 7-5 at half-time. South Africa recovered their composure in the second stanza, and eventually emerged 26-12 winners.
While they took some time to get going in their second clash against Japan, they ran in five tries and won 33-5. The subsequent match against Argentina witnessed the same trend, as the Blitzboks won 28-12 thanks to a strong second-half showing.
South Africa will face USA, who finished second in Pool C, in the Cup quarter-final on Sunday.
