While Brian Lima earned a reputation for rocking runners with shuddering tackles, can he dethrone Schalk Burger from the king seat for delivering the biggest hit?

Burger won almost 80% of the vote against Bakkies Botha in last week’s duel. Now he faces Lima whose hit on Springbok flyhalf Derick Hougaard is the stuff of legend.

The Springboks faced Samoa in the pool stage of the 2003 World Cup in Australia. In the second half of the match, Bok scrumhalf Joost van der Westhuizen took a quick-tap from a penalty but was held up and threw a hospital pass to Hougaard.

As Hougaard leapt up to try to catch the ball, he left himself exposed and Lima dove in with a massive tackle, sending the flyhalf crashing to the ground.

Western Province hosted the Blue Bulls in the 2009 Currie Cup semi-final and Schalk Burger obliterated Springbok teammate Fourie du Preez with a hit that brought the Newlands faithful to their feet.
