Australia have welcomed back veteran playmaker Kurtley Beale in preparation for the Rugby Championship Test between the Wallabies and Springboks on Saturday.
Beale, along with Ben Donaldson and Matt Gibbon, join the Australian national squad as additional team members in the buildup to the clash with the Boks at Adelaide Oval.
The 33-year-old Beale was initially a surprise omission from a 35-man group named by Australia coach Dave Rennie on Thursday, with seasoned flyhalf Bernard Foley the noticeable recall.
In the absence of the injured Quade Cooper, Foley is likely to crack the nod at No 10 for the Wallabies in the first of two Tests against the Boks, with France-based Beale set to possibly play a role later.

The Australians will face the world champions on the back of a 48-17 drubbing by Argentina in San Juan and, addressing media in Adelaide on Monday, Wallaby utility back Andrew Kelleway said: “I’m just pumped to be involved with guys like Kurtley and Bernard who, when I was coming into the Waratahs they were winning titles and stuff.
“They’re both big personalities, Kurtley [especially] brings his infectious laugh everywhere he goes. Firstly, he’s bringing a bit of morale, he’s one of those guys who just pumps everyone up around him and that’s a really great thing. Bernard, the same.
“Both are coming back to the team with their own experiences from playing France and Japan, and trying to impart that on both the younger and experienced guys.
“I think having them around makes everyone feel really confident.”
