Saracens captain Brad Barritt has received a three-week ban following his dangerous tackle on Exeter's Geoff Parling.
Barritt and prop Richard Barrington's double tackle left Parling unconscious, with Barritt remaining on the field and Barrington being red-carded.
However, an RFU disciplinary panel has rescinded Barrington's card – he is free to play again – and slapped Barritt with a suspension, ruling that the centre had initially tackled Parling high with Barrington then following up with a shoulder into the head.
According to the panel, Parling was already unconscious from Barritt's tackle and fell into the contact with Barrington.
Barritt will miss Saracen's next two European Champions Cup matches against the Scarlets and Toulon as well as their Anglo-Welsh Cup game against the Scarlets.
