Cheetahs unveil squad to see out season

The Cheetahs have named 39 players who will represent the team for the remainder of the current season.

The PRO14 is set to resume on 21 August but, at this point, no dates have been fixed for the derby games between the Cheetahs and Kings.

Due to the current conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic in South Africa, both teams have only been allowed to return to non-contact training this week. PRO14 Rugby remains in constant dialogue with SA Rugby and the clubs and aims to identify appropriate dates for the two derbies when possible.

In the meantime, coach Hawies Fourie has announced his squad for the rest of the season. However, four out of the 39-man group will leave the union at the end of October. They are Jasper Wiese (Leicester Tigers), Tapiwa Mafura (Pumas), Benhard Janse van Rensburg (NEC Green Rockets) and Walt Steenkamp (Bulls).
