André Rademan has been voted in as the new president of EP Rugby, writes CRAIG LEWIS.

Long-serving president Cheeky Watson finally stepped down from his post at the end of February, while he was recently arrested on charges of corruption and money laundering.

At the same time as Watson stepped down, it was confirmed that the administration of the cash-strapped union would be returning to local hands, with nominations having been called for to establish a new leadership.

That process saw Rademan, Tony McKeever, Stag Mitchell and George Malgas nominated to take over as president.

After an extensive voting process at a special general meeting held on Saturday, Rademan – who is a Crusaders Rugby Club official – was voted in as president, while Willie Blundin, Cannon Maasdorp, Makhaya Jack and Shaheed Patel were added to the EP executive.

Another lengthy voting process ensued, after which Bantwini Matiki was appointed as Rademan's deputy, while Elridge Februarie was named as vice-president.
