Festival hosts Wynberg Boys' High scored four tries to beat Pearson 27-6 on Saturday.
Wynberg opened the scoring in the fourth minute of the match with a try through winger Dian Fourie.
They would score another two first-half tries, via flank Callum Steyn and inside centre Jordan Holgate, to lead 19-0 at the break.
The second half was a tighter affair, with Pearson kicking two penalties, but a penalty from flyhalf Dominic Coetzer and a second try from Fourie sealed a convincing win for the hosts.
Wynberg scrumhalf Labib Kannemeyer was named Man of the Match.
'The boys were not clinical and allowed Pearson to stay in the game,' Wynberg 1st XV coach Craig Childs told SARugbymag.co.za. 'There were lots of mistakes that made the game stop-start, but the boys managed to score points at crucial stages. We are extremely proud of our defensive effort, which forced Pearson to kick for goal.'
