Hosts Kearsney beat Dale 24-19 in a thrilling contest on day two of their Easter festival.
The opening 20 minutes were marred by ill-discipline from Dale and Kearsney flyhalf Tristan Tedder slotted three penalty goals, while scrumhalf James Hall nailed a long-range effort, giving the home side a handy 12-0 lead.
Tedder then produced a moment of individual brilliance to go in under the poles for a converted try. Dale would eventually get on the scoreboard just before half-time; flank Siyanda Am finding the tryline and flyhalf Courtney Winnaar adding the extras.
Both sides had a rather slow start after the break, but quick ball from a turnover sparked a Kearsney counter-attack and wing David Zondi scored their second try.
Two quick tries by Buntu Ponono and Luyolo Khuse brought the team from King William’s Town within five points of their hosts, but try as they might Dale weren’t able to break Kearsney’s excellent defence in the final minutes.
