Waterkloof hooker Thinus de Beer kicked four penalties and a conversion in their 19-13 win over Paul Roos on day two of the St John's Easter Festival.
The match produced a bizzare kicking contest between two forwards. For Paul Roos the unlikely figure of lock Aidynn Cupido was doing the job, while Waterkloof's No 2 stepped up to the tee. Cupido put Paul Roos on the scoreboard in the fourth minute with the first of his two penalties.
Both teams scored a try apiece, with scrumhalf Corné Schoeman touching down for Waterkloof and centre Matt Gallow going over for Paul Roos. With the score at 16-13, and two minutes to play, De Beer slotted his fourth penalty to put the result beyond doubt.
In other results from day two, St Charles College beat St John's from Zimbabwe 29-7, Scots College from Australia continued to impress with their silky skills as they beat hosts St John's 42-14. In the other big result of the day, Hoërskool Nelspruit scored two tries to edge out Pretoria Boys' High 10-5.
