Sharks flank Jean Deysel will link up with Japanese club Toyota Verblitz at the end of the 2014 Super Rugby season.

The Sharks confirmed the news on Wednesday. Sharks CEO John Smit said Deysel would be missed, but that the union respected the player's decision to continue his career in the Far East.

Deysel said it was a tough decision to make. 'I have learnt so much from this place and I am eternally grateful to this franchise for their belief, support and guidance over the years.

“Moving abroad presents a new opportunity for my family and I to experience a new culture and way of life. The memories of this franchise and most importantly the friendships I have made along the way will remain with me forever.'
