Hosts Kearsney College will face a stern test against Dale College at 12pm on day two.
Dale have won all six of their matches this year, with their biggest victory coming against Graeme College a month ago.
In a mouth-watering clash on Thursday, heavyweights Selborne and Affies square off in the fourth fixture of the day at 1:15pm, while Glenwood tackle Dr EG Jansen at 1:45pm on Saturday.
On the third and final day, fourth-ranked Grey College will play against Krugerdorp's finest in Hoërskool Monument, in the penultimate game of the festival at 2:30pm, before Kearsney and Dr EG Jansen end proceedings at 3:45pm.
The Kearsney festival may still be in its infancy compared to others in SA, but has had no shortage of drama and entertainment.
Since its inception in 2008, the festival has attracted some of the biggest, most highly rated rugby-playing schools in the country and this year will be no different. Players from 12 teams, including Affies, Selborne, Grey College [Bloemfontein] and Glenwood, will be vying for the three available Sharks academy bursaries, which are on offer at the festival every year.
'We are uniquely placed to offer spectators exciting schoolboy rugby in a pleasant environment,' Kearsney headmaster Elwyn van den Aardweg told SARugbymag.co.za. 'We go out of our way to make this a sought-after destination for participating schools, their players, management staff and parents. We thank the participating schools for accepting the invitation to this event. The line-up of schools has the potential for memorable encounters played in the finest traditions of good old schoolboy rugby.'
The awarding of the Sharks Academy bursaries will take place at 5pm on Monday.
