Jonathan Joseph could miss England’s Test series against the Springboks in June due to an ankle injury.
Joseph was forced off the field in the 28th minute of the match between Bath and Saracens after his ankle was trapped underneath him during a collision with flank Schalk Burger.
The 26-year-old was unable to put weight on his left foot despite receiving extensive medical treatment on the field and was seen leaving the stadium on crutches.
‘Jonathan looks like he’s given his ankle a really good tweak and we’re not sure how long he’ll be out for. Hopefully, it won’t be too serious,’ said Bath director of rugby Todd Blackadder.
England are also awaiting news on the availability of captain Dylan Hartley, who is battling concussion.
