Golden Lions utility back Ruan Combrinck will miss the rest of the Currie Cup season with a serious knee injury.
The 25-year-old has been one of the stars in the Lions squad this year and put in an outstanding performance in their 73-31 victory against the Free State Cheetahs in Bloemfontein last Saturday.
Combrinck will have knee surgery on Wednesday and will be sidelined for the rest of the year.
In other injury news, Jaco Kriel has been cleared fit to play on Friday, while Jaco van der Walt is also available for selection after making a full recovery from his knee injury.
Howard Mnisi and Rohan van Rensburg were rested for two days with eye injuries, but both are expected to be available to face WP.
Prop Jacques van Rooyen is nursing a head laceration injury, but will return to training on Wednesday.
