Johann van Graan and John Mitchell are on the Bulls' short list to replace Nollis Marais as coach.
The Bulls have lost eight out of 11 Super Rugby matches this season, including a 51-14 defeat to the Lions at Ellis Park on Saturday.
According to Rapport newspaper, Van Graan impressed the Bulls board with a presentation at Loftus last Friday.
Van Graan was a Springbok assistant coach under Heyneke Meyer and is the son of Bulls CEO Barend.
Mitchell, the former All Blacks coach who is currently with the USA Eagles, is another contender for the job. The New Zealander has experience coaching in South Africa with the Lions, and lives in Durban.
Rapport claims that the Bulls asked Meyer to come on board immediately to help Marais until the end of the season. However, the former Bok coach's duties as managing director of Carinat Sports Marketing meant he was unable to do so.
