Embattled England boss Eddie Jones reportedly expects to be sacked as coach of the 2003 Rugby World Cup winners early next week.
According to London’s Daily Mail, the Australian is resigned to losing his job as the England RFU conducts an urgent inquest into the Roses’ 2022 Test season.
Jones presided over England’s worst year of international rugby since 2008, comprising six defeats, a draw and five wins, and ending with a heavy defeat to the world champion Springboks at Twickenham.

An ongoing review led by RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney is set to decide if Jones stays as coach until next year’s World Cup in France or leaves some 12 months earlier than scheduled.
The RFU inquest had been scheduled to take two weeks but it’s understood that Jones’ final meeting with the review panel will be held on Monday, with the union’s board convening the following day to ratify its decision.
Former Wales and British & Lions coach Warren Gatland is reportedly in line to replace Jones if the 62-year-old is axed with immediate effect.
Leicester Tigers boss Steve Borthwick and Crusaders coach Scott Robertson are also linked with the post, but La Rochelle’s Ronan O’Gara has ruled himself out of the race.
