The Blitzboks reignited their Dubai Sevens charge by bouncing back from their tournament-opening loss with a win over Kenya in their second pool match on Friday.
Having surrendered their 19-game unbeaten streak in Dubai with a poor performance in a loss to Great Britain earlier in the day, the Springbok Sevens streaked to a 27-12 victory against Kenya.
The much-improved Blitzboks showed far more patience and structure in possession, with JC Pretorius scoring a try and assisting Impi Visser to put South Africa 17-0 up at the break.
Dewald Human sprinted clear straight from the second-half kick-off to give the Blitzboks a 22-point buffer, before debutant Ricardo Duartee capped the performance with a first series try.
South Africa will next face defending Sevens Series champions Australia in the final pool game at 6. 30pm on Friday evening.
