Eddie Jones is on the verge of taking over as head coach of the USA Eagles after the 2023 World Cup, according to reports in England.
Jones is reportedly set to agree to an eight-year deal to coach the United States in the first move of what are expected to be major shifts in the Test rugby coaching landscape, post-2023.

Crusaders head coach Scott Robertson has emerged as a strong candidate for the England job, while there is still no clarity over whether Dave Rennie will continue as Wallabies coach after next year’s World Cup.
Jones was initially linked to a return to Australia, but has reportedly cooled on the idea of a second stint with the Wallabies.

The links between the USA and Jones have come shortly after the Eagles failed to qualify for the 2023 World Cup. The deal would see Jones coach the Eagles until the end of the 2031 World Cup, which will be held in the USA.
