The Blitzboks got the new era under Sandile Ngcobo off to a solid start with a win over Uruguay in their opening fixture at the Hong Kong Sevens on Friday.
While they will be far from satisfied with their accuracy during the match, South Africa claimed a 21-0 win, thanks to tries from Selvyn Davids, Shilton van Wyk and Ronald Brown.
It took until the final minute of the first half for the Blitzboks to open the scoring through Davids, after Uruguay came close to dotting down in the opening passages of the match.

South Africa were far better in the second half, forcing Uruguay into handling errors through excellent defence, pinning the South Americans back and capitalising when the chances were there.
The Blitzboks next play Great Britain, who suffered a heavy 34-0 loss to France, at 7.10am on Saturday morning.
