The Cell C Sharks made the most of their first home game of the 2022-23 Vodacom United Rugby Championship on the weekend, while the DHL Stormers kept their unbeaten run intact in Wales.
The Stormers maintained a 15-game streak without defeat on Friday night as the defending champions secured a 16-16 draw with Ospreys in their second away game of the season in Swansea.
In Durban on Saturday, the Sharks delivered a strong second-half showing against Glasgow Warriors to secure a 40-12 bonus-point victory, with Eben Etzebeth putting in a Man of the Match performance on his URC debut.

The Emirates Lions were edged 39-37 by Ulster in a 10-try thriller at Ellis Park to halt an impressive winning run for The Pride, but the Vodacom Bulls’ travel troubles continued with a 31-17 loss to Munster in Limerick – a second defeat on the bounce for Jake White’s men.
All the SA teams are in the top six on the log, the Stormers still in third on 17 points, with the Sharks two points and one spot back in fourth , Lions (15) now up to fifth, while the Bulls (14) slip to sixth.
In other weekend results, Cardiff thumped Welsh rivals Dragons 31-14, Leinster laboured to a win over hosts Connacht (10-0), Scarlets had the better of Zebre (31-12), while Edinburgh returned to winning ways with an emphatic 53-8 victory over Benetton.
Looking ahead to round six, the Bulls can bag a W from their tour when they face Benetton in Treviso on Friday (6:30pm), and there are three SA teams in action on Saturday when the Lions host Glasgow Warriors at Ellis Park (4:05pm), before a clash between the Sharks and Ulster at Kings Park (6:15pm), and then the Stormers will look to finish off their overseas leg on a high when against Cardiff at Cardiff Arms Park (8:35pm).
