Springbok players at Japanese clubs will be available for the Test against England at Twickenham on 26 November.
The final match of the Boks’ end-of-year tour falls outside World Rugby’s Test window.
As a result, Rassie Erasmus was expected to select a match 23 made up of SA-based players, with those Boks in England, France and Japan having to return to their clubs after the Test against Italy on 19 November.
However, according to Rapport newspaper, the Boks now expect to have their Japan-based players at Twickenham.
This includes Willie le Roux (Toyota Verblitz), Jesse Kriel (Canon Eagles), Damian de Allende (Wild Knights), Pieter-Steph du Toit (Toyota Verblitz), Lood de Jager (Wild Knights), Malcolm Marx ( Kubota Spears), Franco Mostert (Honda Heat), Kwagga Smith (Shizuoka Blue Revs) and Faf de Klerk (Yokohama Canon Eagles).
Rapport also claims that a final decision has yet to be made on the availability of the France-based Boks for the England Test.
There is therefore still a chance that Cheslin Kolbe (Toulon), Rynhardt Elstadt (Toulouse), Cobus Reinach (Montpellier) and Trevor Nyakane (Racing 92) could be released by their clubs.
