Only one South African has been listed among the Vodacom United Rugby Championship’s top players in the second round.
Vodacom Bulls hooker Johan Grobbelaar had a standout performance in his side’s 33-31 victory over Edinburgh and will be looking to further impress Springbok selectors against Connacht in this weekend’s third-round outing.
Numbers that matter: Bulls vs Connacht
Apart from a try in the 66th minute, which proved crucial for the Bulls in a very close encounter, the 24-year-old also proved his worth to the team in the lineouts where he ensured that his side retained possession of all but one of his 26 throws.

Grobbelaar showed confidence by throwing to the back of the lineout on eight occasions, more than any other player.
This 94% success rate was better than any other hooker over the weekend, making him the top lineout performer in the second round of the URC.
