After leaving Mzwandile Stick in his dust, Branco du Preez now faces the next challenger in the quest to find SA’s greatest Blitzbok.
Du Preez whittled Stick to claim 84% of the vote in the previous poll, but the competition’s about to heat up as we move into round two.
A two-time World Series top try-scorer (2004, 2008), Fabian Juries dotted down for fun and had heaps of pace to burn, but can he beat Branco du Preez?

Juries scored 179 career tries, 79 more than Du Preez, leaving him joint second alongside Cecil Afrika for all-time Blitzbok tries, only surpassed by Seabelo Senatla’s 230 tries.
With 417 appearances for the Blitzboks, Du Preez by far surpasses Juries’ 174 caps, but Fabian averaged more than one try per game compared with Branco’s one try every four matches.
Concerning career points, Juries sits on 925, quite a bit less than Du Preez’s 1,434, but Branco holds the record for most Blitzbok conversions with 464 kicks, explaining the difference in points.
