The Stormers may yet begin their United Rugby Championship title defence at Cape Town Stadium later this month after Justin Bieber’s Justice Tour, scheduled for the same week, was cancelled.
The Western Province Rugby Union said in a statement on 24 August that the Stormers would have to play their opening home fixtures against Connacht (24 September) and Edinburgh (1 October) at the Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch due to a Bieber concert at Cape Town Stadium on 28 September.

However, it has since been confirmed that Bieber has had to cancel the rest of his planned World Tour due to health issues and will not be visiting South Africa this month.
This means that the Stormers may yet be able to play both URC openers in Cape Town instead of Stellenbosch, which would be a big financial boost and would allow more fans to attend the fixtures.
A spokesperson for the WPRU told Netwerk24 that it is still unclear whether the Cape Town Stadium will be available to play in, but as soon as a decision has been made, the public will know.
The round-nine clash with Dragons on 3 December will still be played at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium due to preparations for the Cape Town Sevens, which takes place the following weekend.
The Stormers will also end the regular season against Benetton at Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch on 21 April 2023, with the Monster Jam monster truck show taking place at Cape Town Stadium.
