Community Cup debutants Hamiltons scored 10 tries on their way to a 66-12 mauling of Ferros in Cape Town.

A brace of tries by Jody Burch and Jan Abraham du Plessis ensured an emphatic victory for Hamiltons. Ferros could manage only two tries, from Jean Botha and Nkululeko Ngozo.

In Oudtshoorn, Spring Rose claimed a crucial 20-17 away victory over Bridgton. Both sides scored two tries, but the boot of fullback Pumezo Tom, who kicked two penalties and two conversions, proved to be the difference.

In Roodepoort, College Rovers beat the Roodepoort Lions 41-20. Ex-Springbok winger Jongi Nokwe crossed the line twice.
