Two-time World Cup winner and former Wallaby centre Tim Horan believes Handre Pollard deserves more recognition for his role in the Springbok backline.
Pollard missed the opening Test of the year against Wales at Loftus Versfeld, but has been the go-to guy since returning for the second Test of the series in Bloemfontein.
The 28-year-old is set to wear the No 10 jersey again at Adelaide Oval on Saturday when the Boks will look to end their nightmare away record against the Wallabies in Australia.
KEO: Pollard the potion to Springbok success in Australia
“I reckon Pollard has been the glue for this Springbok team for many years now and probably doesn’t get the recognition he deserves,” Horan told TimesLIVE in an exclusive interview from his home in Brisbane.
“He is one of my favourite rugby players in the world to watch. I’ve observed him since his time playing for the SA junior teams and I’ve seen how dedicated and professional he is as a player.”

The Boks have not beaten the Wallabies in Australia since a 38-12 victory in Brisbane in 2013. Since 1996, South Africa have only achieved a 13% win rate Down Under, which is worse than the Boks’ record in New Zealand.
“When the Boks are at home they are hard to beat, but when they travel, you think you can get them at least 50% of the time,” Horan added.
