Australia coach Dave Rennie believes South Africa’s best front row will come off the bench in the clash between the Springboks and Wallabies on Saturday.
Jacques Nienaber has retained first-choice props Frans Malherbe and Ox Nche alongside hooker Joseph Dweba, who packed down in the defeat by the All Blacks in Johannesburg.
Malcolm Marx, Man of the Match in the Bok victory in the opening Test of the Rugby Championship, is among the replacements with fellow Bomb Squad members and 2019 World Cup-winners Steven Kitshoff and Vincent Koch.
“If you look at the front row they bring on it’s probably better than the front row they start, so our guys coming off the bench have a massive job,” said Rennie on Thursday after announcing his match-day 23 to face the Boks at Adelaide Oval.

“But we’ve got genuine impact as well with guys like Rob Leota and Pete Samu, and it’s great to have Kells [Andrew Kellaway] back in the mix.”
On where the Wallabies expect the biggest threat from the Boks, the Kiwi tactician added: “They’ve got a massive pack, just huge men, and they are happy to play without the ball and back their defence.
“They’ve got some genuine gas out wide that can hurt if you turn it over, so you’ve got to be prepared to stay in the fight against them.
“We’ve got to bring a lot of physicality and kick smart, and receive kicks when they are less organised and play off that.”
