The penultimate Premier Interschools clash of the 2022 calendar will see Paul Roos host Grey College in Stellenbosch on the same weekend that the SA Schools team are in action.
The second-to-last Interschools fixture is a local derby and as with most big rivalries, there has been a two-year gap since the last time Paul Roos and Grey locked horns and anticipation for Saturday’s encounter is high.
The Maroon Machine’s last win against Grey was in 2015, at home, and the hosts will be confident they can repeat that feat this weekend on home turf. The match is massive for both schools with old boys travelling from across the country to watch live in the Winelands.
Both teams will lose several players to the SA Schools squad that is on duty over the weekend in Paarl, but it will not deter those stepping up to play with as much pride and passion as the incumbents.
In other notable fixtures on Saturday, Dale College and Queen’s College will clash in Qonce, Garsfontein take on Noordheuwel in the Noordvaal Cup, while Durbanville face Stellenberg, Wynberg host Rondebosch and Bishops battle SACS in Cape Town.
