In a poll on the Bok MVP, 64% decided the hooker had the most telling influence for the men in green and gold, beating try-scorer Kurt-Lee Arendse (12%) and outside centre Lukhanyo Am (6%).

Marx, in his 50th appearance for the Springboks, gave the All Blacks a torrid time at the breakdown, winning four turnovers as the Boks went on to secure a 26-10 victory – their biggest winning margin over New Zealand in the professional era.
