The Springboks and the Cheetahs have received some good news with confirmation that prop Coenie Oosthuizen could be back in action in the next three weeks.
Volksblad reports that Oosthuizen visited a neck specialist in Bloemfontein to assess his current injury, and has been told that the injury is not as serious as first feared.
Oosthuizen, who has a history of neck injuries, was initially expected to be sidelined for two months. On Monday, Cheetahs coach Naka Drotské told the newspaper that Oosthuizen may return to the playing field soon if all goes according to plan.
While this news is good for the Cheetahs and the Boks, the central franchise is currently dealing with other injury concerns.
Centre Francois Venter (shoulder) and wing Raymond Rhule (ankle) are both in doubt for the Cheetahs' final tour match against the Blues.
