As we wait for the 2022 Rugby Championship to kick off with the 102nd Test between the Springboks and All Blacks, take a look back at when the two teams met in a thrilling 10-try showdown at Ellis Park in 2000.

Robbie Fleck and Werner Swanepoel each scored a try double as the Springboks crossed six times to record their highest score against the All Blacks in a pulsating 46-40 Tri-Nations victory that was their penultimate under coach Nick Mallett.

Captain Andre Vos was in the middle of a mobile loose trio that included Rassie Erasmus and Corne Krige, with Mark Andrews running the lineout, Thinus Delport joining the line from fullback, flyhalf Braam van Straaten kicking the points and recalled finisher Chester Williams and flyer Breyton Paulse the stars of the backline.

The bench included Bok icon Joost van der Westhuizen and future centurions Percy Montgomery and John Smit.

They faced a haka that included the lethal back three of Christian Cullen, Tana Umaga and Jonah Lomu, and potent halfback tandem of flyhalf Andrew Mehrtens and Justin Marshall.
