Currie Cup champions the Pumas and losing finalists Griquas will reportedly play in an international tournament with the Free State Cheetahs later this year.
According to Rapport, the 2022 winners of the sport’s oldest competition and their fellow South African teams are set to compete in an intercontinental cup event in the coming months.

It is understood that the competition, previously scheduled for 2021 but cancelled due to the pandemic, will include sides from Italy, Germany, Romania, Georgia and USA.
The Cheetahs will already be competing in the European Challenge Cup for the first time from the start of the 2022-23 campaign.
But, the international exposure will be a boost for the Pumas and Griquas after the two smallest SA unions made a statement when they contested the Currie Cup final this season.
