Wales could be without another key player for the upcoming three-Test series against the Springboks in South Africa in July.
This comes as captain Dan Biggar was injured in the Premiership semi-final between the Northampton Saints and Leicester Tigers on Saturday.
SQUAD NEWS: North to make Wales return against Springboks
Biggar was clearly in discomfort after attempting to charge down a kick in the first half and had to be substituted 11 minutes into the second half.
Should Biggar be ruled out of the series, it would leave coach Wayne Pivac with a conundrum around who to pick as Wales’ first-choice flyhalf.
Rhys Patchell and Gareth Anscombe are the other two pivots in Wales’ 33-man squad for the tour.
As for the captaincy, veteran lock Alun Wyn Jones is part of the squad, but Biggar was retained as captain after leading Wales during the Six Nations.
Pivac is already without all of Ken Owens, Justin Tipuric, Ross Moriarty, Christ Tshiunza, Aaron Wainwright, Uilisi Halaholo, Leigh Halfpenny and Johnny McNicholl for the series.
