With the Stormers set to host Ulster and the Vodacom Bulls to make the trip to Dublin to take on Leinster in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship semi-finals, take a look back at what happened when the teams faced off during the round-robin stage of the tournament.
The Stormers and Ulster first faced off in the 14th round of the URC. The previous encounter was memorable for a particularly controversial moment when a potential winning try for Ulster was ruled out and the Stormers were awarded a five-metre scrum, despite it appearing that replacement prop Callum Reid lost the ball backwards and then grounded it.
The home side would hold out to claim a 23-20 victory after successfully defending a three-point lead in the final 20 minutes.
Eight-time champions Leinster hosted the Bulls in the opening round of the tournament. In a dominant display, the Irish outfit scored four tries to run out 31-3 winners. The Bulls’ only points in the match came via the boot of flyhalf Johan Goosen.
