The Blitzboks progressed to the cup quarter-finals of the London Sevens after claiming a hard-fought win over Kenya to complete a trio of impressive performances on Saturday.
With the 24-21 victory, the Blitzboks finished the first day of the London Sevens on top of Pool B, having beaten Sevens Series contenders Argentina and Ireland earlier.
South Africa will take on Australia in the fourth quarter-final at 1:04pm on Sunday.
The Blitzboks enjoyed a perfect start, opening up a 19-0 lead thanks to tries from Impi Visser, Dewald Human and Muller du Plessis.
However, Kenya got back into the match as captain Nelson Oyoo scored either side of half time to cut the deficit to just five points.
Jordan Hendrikse was brought off the bench for his sevens debut in the second half and the flyhalf produced a number of good touches on the ball.
The Blitzboks turned to their captain, Siviwe Soyizwapi, who showed great strength to shrug off a couple of defenders on his way to the tryline, giving his side a 10-point buffer.
That would prove to be vital, as Kenya fired late to score, but it would prove a consolation try as the full-time hooter had already sounded.
