Former Stormers centre Huw Jones is retracing his steps to Glasgow Warriors and will leave Harlequins at the end of the current season.
Having only arrived in England last year from Glasgow, Jones will return to his former club ahead of the 2022-23 Vodacom United Rugby Championship season after a one-season stint in the Premiership.
Jones was a regular for Harlequins in his debut season as the 28-year-old played in multiple positions across the backline, most recently slotting in at fullback to cover for the injured Tyrone Green.
“I missed Oli Kebble loads, and I think I left the oven on!” Jones joked about rejoining his former Stormers teammate at the Warriors.
“In all seriousness, I’m really looking forward to going back to Glasgow. I lived there for five years and I made a lot of friends and memories, and I’m looking forward to making more both on and off the field in the seasons ahead.”
Having initially put pen to paper with the Warriors in the summer of 2017, the former Stormer sits one appearance shy of a half-century in Glasgow colours as he returns to Scotstoun.
“There’s a great core group of players at Glasgow that want to take the club forward and I’m really keen to be a part of that,” he said.
“I’ve gained a lot of valuable experience playing for Harlequins this season and I’m excited to return and show how I’ve developed as a player, and to pull on the Glasgow Warriors jersey again.”
