Former Maties flyer Nevaldo Fleurs will make his debut for the Sharks in Friday’s Currie Cup clash with the Pumas in Durban.
The recently signed Fleurs has been named at fullback, as coach Etienne Fynn also capitalised on the Vodacom United Rugby Championship break to field a number of players who haven’t received much game time in the competition.
Hooker Kerron van Vuuren replaces Fez Mbatha, while Ruben van Heerden comes in for Emile van Heerden in the second row to restore his partnership with Hyron Andrews.
Jeandre Labuschange unseats Dylan Richardson in the starting XV, while Sikhumbuzo Notshe takes over from Celimpilo Gumede at No 8 to complete the forwards changes.
In a rejigged backline, Boeta Chamberlain will run out at 10 with Tito Bonilla moving to the bench.
Marnus Potgieter shifts from outside centre to No 14 to partner Anthony Volmink on the left wing, with Jeremy Ward to partner Ethan Fisher in the midfield.
Meanwhile, Pumas coach Jimmy Stonehouse has tweaked the backline that did duty against the Lions at the start of April.
With the two log points granted to both sides in the cancelled match against the Vodacom Bulls, the Sharks currently occupy third place in the standings with 24 points, nine clear of Pumas, who the Durbanites beat 24-10 in the first-round match at Mbombela Stadium in March.
