Paarl Gimnasium beat Grey College on Monday, while Selborne edged Kingswood, to cap another enthralling weekend of First XV schools rugby.
Paarl Gim celebrated a hard-fought 22-17 win over Grey College on the final day of the annual Wildeklawer Festival in Kimberley. The Capetonians also demolished Helpmekaar 59-12 on Saturday.
Boland Landbou finished off on a high with a resounding 47-7 win over Noord-Kaap, as Paarl Boys’ High claimed a 27-3 victory over Monument.
But, Paul Roos narrowly missed out in a tightly contested 21-18 defeat by Garsfontein.
There were also big wins for Affies and Stellenberg, while Outeniqua, Oakdale, Drostdy, Helpmekaar and Framesby all cashed in with victories.
At the Selborne Festival in East London, Selborne held on for a memorable 21-20 victory over Kingswood, the hosts finishing the weekend unbeaten.
The standout team on day one, Rondebosch were denied a perfect outing after going down 21-17 to Grey High, but SACS pulled one back with a 24-15 win.
Brandwag and Queen’s, too, joined the winners’ circle, beating St John’s and St Andrew’s, respectively.
