Kyle Steyn and Oli Kebble are set to return to an “old stomping ground” with Glasgow Warriors for Friday’s clash with the Stormers in Cape Town.
The SA-born pair are two of 17 Scotland internationals included in Glasgow’s 32-man squad for their two-match tour of South Africa in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship.
Kebble has previously played Super Rugby with the Stormers, and in the Currie Cup with Western Province, while Steyn has represented Griquas.
Further international experience is provided for Glasgow by Jack Dempsey (Australia), Domingo Miotti (Argentina) and Josh McKay (New Zealand), as well as Scotland Sevens veterans Robbie Fergusson and Ally Miller.
Danny Wilson’s men departed Scotland on Monday for Friday’s clash with the Stormers at Cape Town Stadium, and will complete their trip against the Vodacom Bulls in Pretoria next week.
Steyn, man of the match in Glasgow’s win over Newcastle Falcons in the Challenge Cup on Friday, is looking forward to getting back in familiar territory.
Speaking to The Scotsman, the wing said: “I was at Stellenbosch University and that’s where we’re staying, in the uni town, so I can’t wait to go back to my old stomping ground.
“At the Stormers, there’s the No 9, Paul de Wet, who I was at uni with. The Bulls have a flyhalf, Chris Smith, who is one of my best mates. I’ve played against most of the guys, even if Oli Kebble will probably know a lot more of them.”
