Six Scotland players, including captain Stuart Hogg and senior players Finn Russell and Ali Price, being disciplined for a breach of team protocols after a night out on the town has elicited quite a response on social media.

If 6 guys with a combined age of 163 who have 258 @Scotlandteam caps between them thought it was a good look to head out when not supposed to then they need to have a word – + if they thought they wouldn’t get spotted in a central/popular Edinburgh venue, well that’s madness…

My two cents on Pubgate with Scotland. Firstly, I bet it’s pretty grim to be in a high performance environment in the days of Covid and we shouldn’t forget that while most of us would love to be in that environment, our day to day lives are basically now unimpacted.

However, the fact that it’s got to this point reflects very badly, although you can decide on who. Either, the camp is incredibly strict and so the guys felt they had no alternative other than to escape. Or, the senior leaders decided to flout the rules.

I like a pint, as much as the next pint liker.
But kerfew protocols are there for a reason.
The reason being if you don’t stick to it, you don’t play. https://t.co/lQg9hbQPnB

Seen many comments on the Pubgate saga saying how tough it must be for players to be in a C19 bubble etc… and yes it is.
But one thing i would say is there are many places where C19 bubbles remain enforced for professional reasons.
