Malcolm Jaer and Cohen Jasper will both start for the Cheetahs in their Currie Cup clash with the Lions in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
Cheetahs head coach Hawies Fourie has rung the changes for Saturday’s face-off, when his unbeaten team takes on the winless Lions.
Most of the changes are rotational, as Jasper replaces Clayton Blommetjies at fullback and the experienced Robert Ebersohn comes in for Davids Brits, who is on the bench.
In the only injury enforced change, Malcolm Jaer comes in for Springbok wing Rosko Specman.
There are a further two changes to the pack as Jeandre Rudolph and Cameron Dawson replace Andisa Ntsila and Schalk Ferreira, respectively.
“I think the Lions are a really quality side. Obviously, they’ve gone through a difficult patch but we expect a strong team to come to Bloemfontein,” Cheetahs captain Ruan Pienaar said.
“I think a lot of the URC guys will get the opportunity to get game time. They play a similar brand of rugby. It is exciting – they like to keep the ball in hand. It will be a tough test for us but we trained really well the last two weeks and I think the boys are ready for the 80 minutes on Saturday.”
