Aaron Cruden will start at flyhalf ahead of Beauden Barrett against England in Auckland on Saturday.
Cruden gets the No 10 jersey despite limited game time after a long stint out with a broken thumb and on the back of a rusty match and a half for the Chiefs in recent weeks.
Julian Savea has been ruled out with a knee injury, so Cory Jane is selected on the left wing, with Ben Smith on the right. In the pack, Jerome Kaino returns at No 8, and Dane Coles has again been preferred to Keven Mealamu at hooker.
There are three new caps on the bench – centre Malakai Fekitoa, lock Patrick Tuipulotu and scrumhalf TJ Perenara.
The side is a real mix of experience and youth, with 968 caps in the 23, which has an average age of 27.
All Blacks – 15 Israel Dagg, 14 Ben Smith, 13 Conrad Smith, 12 Ma'a Nonu, 11 Cory Jane, 10 Aaron Cruden, 9 Aaron Smith, 8 Jerome Kaino, 7 Richie McCaw (c), 6 Liam Messam, 5 Sam Whitelock, 4 Brodie Retallick, 3 Owen Franks, 2 Dane Coles, 1 Tony Woodcock.
