Springbok loose forward Arno Botha is reportedly in negotiations to leave the Vodacom Bulls and take up a contract with a French team.
Botha returned to the Bulls from Munster in 2020 and helped the Pretoria team win back-to-back Currie Cup titles.
However, according to Sunday newspaper Rapport, the 30-year-old is currently in talks to join Top 14 club Lyon, with the Bulls’ approval.
Botha’s contract with the Bulls runs until 1 July.
Having made his professional debut for the Bulls back in 2011, Botha won two Springbok caps between 2012 and 2013.
In 2018, Botha left the Bulls to join English Premiership side London Irish before moving to Munster that year where he rediscovered his best form.
While the Bulls would undoubtedly miss Botha’s experience and ability, they still have good depth in the back row having recently brought back Cyle Brink and Jacques du Plessis from overseas clubs.
