Bulls flanker Roelof Smit is set for another extended period on the sidelines after tearing his medial collateral ligament upon his return to action this past weekend.
Accoring to SuperSport.com, Smit will be out of action for six to eight weeks, with the loose forward having suffered the injury early on in the Blue Bulls' Rugby Challenge clash against the Sharks.
Smit has endured an unfortunate run of injury misfortunes, and any hopes of him making a Super Rugby return this season have now been eradicated.
In addition, flyhalf Tony Jantjies is likely to miss this Saturday's match against the Kings with a rib injury, while Renaldo Bothma faces several weeks on the sidelines after fracturing his arm.
The only bit of good news for the Bulls is that wingers Travis Ismaiel and Jamba Ulengo have now returned to training, along with Handré Pollard.
