An SARugbymag.co.za poll has confirmed that questions around the quality of options at fullback keep Springbok fans awake at night.
With the 2023 World Cup looming and the 2022 season being the last full campaign before the showpiece in France next year, Bok preparations for their Webb Ellis Cup defence are already in full swing.
While the world champions repelled the British & Irish Lions in 2021, and scalped the All Blacks, Bok fans have raised concerns about the quality and depth in two key positions.
No less than 63% of those polled on where the Boks need a boost in 2022 agreed that fullback is a position of concern.
Next in line was flyhalf, where almost 27% of voters called for an upgrade.
But perhaps the vote was skewed by the overwhelming faith in the rest of the squad as the remaining 10% was spread across the centres (5), scrumhalf (4), locks and hooker (each less than 1%).
