Western Province Rugby and the Stormers are reportedly keen to lure Springbok hooker Joseph Dweba to Cape Town in 2022.

Dweba currently plays for Bordeaux in France, but according to Netwerk24 the 26-year-old hooker is in talks with the WP Rugby union about a move that will see him return to South Africa.

If the deal materialises, Dweba will only join the Cape side at the start of the 2022-2023 season and will fill the void created by Springbok rake Bongi Mbonambi leaving the Stormers for the Sharks earlier this year.

Dweba, who made his Test debut for the Boks against Argentina in August, previously played for the Cheetahs before moving to Bordeaux in 2020.
