Powerhouse England flank Sam Underhill has picked a former Springbok captain as the only South African representative in his all-time dream team.
Underhill’s team is dominated by former All Blacks, with Conrad Smith, Richie McCaw and the late Jonah Lomu and Jerry Collins all cracking the nod.
The only South African representative is former Bok captain Jean de Villiers, who forms the midfield partnership with Smith.
From England, there is fullback Matt Perry, who won 36 caps for England and three for the B&I Lions in Australia in 2001, flyhalf Jonny Wilkinson, No 8 Lawrence Dallaglio and 2003 World Cup-winning captain Martin Johnson.
Former Wales captain Gareth Edwards, who won 53 Test caps between 1967 and 1978 – scoring 88 points – is at scrumhalf, while Wales props Adam Jones and Gethin Jenkins form the front row with Ireland hooker Keith Wood.
Ireland’s other representative is former captain Paul O’Connell.
