All Black wing Will Jordan has been voted as World Rugby’s Breakthrough Player of the Year for 2021.
The 23-year-old wing made his Test debut in the Covid-19-disrupted 2020 season, but was superb in his second campaign as a Test player, scoring 15 tries in 11 games for the All Blacks in 2021.
Jordan vied with Australia’s Andrew Kellaway, Welshman Louis Rees-Zammit and England’s Marcus Smith for this award.
“It means a lot to win this,” Jordan said. “It’s been an exciting year for me and the team as well.
“I was involved with the team a little bit last year but it’s nice to have been on the field a little more this year. Thanks to the coach for the opportunity.”
